BACKGROUND

Squarewave Industries is the sole effort of me, Sam Winston. After spending many years as an audio engineer I decided to return to school and received a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington in 2012. Designing, building, modifying and repairing recording equipment has been my main occupation for over a decade. In addition to Squarewave Industries I have also been the in-house tech at Sage Arts Recording since 2017.

DESIGN

I personally design and build every piece of gear that I sell. I handle every aspect of the process, including circuit design, PCB layout and front panel layout. I'm committed to maintaining the highest level of quality that I possibly can. I've spent many years repairing and modifying all manner of studio equipment and through that work I've learned what goes into making great sounding, reliable, high quality gear. This knowledge informs every choice I make in the design process.

All components are through hole and hand soldered. Circuit boards are manufactured by Bay Area Circuits. I use steel enclosures from Par-Metal Manufacturing in New Jersey. Front panels are engraved locally by Front Panel Express in Kent, WA.

If you ever have a problem with anything that I've made, I will do my best to fix it. Below are a few examples of some past custom projects.
